Author bio
Annie Neugebauer is a novelist, blogger, nationally award-winning poet, and two-time Bram Stoker Award®-nominated short story author. She is the author of You Have to Let Them Bleed, The Outsiders Sequence (The Extra, The Other, and The Spare), Once the Darkness Comes, and a forthcoming novella through Union Square (Hachette).
Annie has short stories and poetry appearing in more than a hundred publications, such as Cemetery Dance, Apex, Black Static, and Year’s Best Hardcore Horror Volumes 3, 4, and 5. Her works have been honorable mentions for Ellen Datlow’s Best Horror of the Year series, the Ladies of Horror Fiction Award, and the Stevens Poetry Manuscript Competition by the National Federation of State Poetry Societies. She’s also had stories recommended for the Locus Awards and the Shirley Jackson Awards.
Annie is a University of Texas at Austin alumna, active member of the Horror Writers Association, and a former columnist and instructor for the Writer’s Digest award-winning websites LitReactor and Writer Unboxed. She also served as a founding member and president of the Denton Writers’ Critique Group, webmaster for the Poetry Society of Texas, and a speaker at numerous writing events.
