Thanks Giving

This poem of mine seems too fitting not to share this week. Enjoy!

Thanks Giving

I am thankful for
heavy rains
that have made us look like gardeners.
For make-a-wish flowers
that have sprung up
as fast as my wishes;
I have never thought them weeds.
For two naughty cats
who get underfoot
as often as they keep me on my toes.
For friends as dependable
as the dayโ€™s end.
For family tumultuous,
scattered like stray acorns,
gathered yearly.
For this house,
more than material,
more than design.
And for you, my love,
always for you.

Made me think of my own THREE crazy cats! Beautiful, Annie. Loved the romantic last verses, “And for you, my love, / always for you.” ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Three is even better than two!! And thank you very much. ๐Ÿ™‚

This poem is so lovely it brings tears to my eyes! I love the line, “…as fast as my wishes” & the understated description of your home. Really, so much feeling & love is so cleverly packed into this short little poem. I can’t get enough of it…
